Gay adult summer camp

gay adult summer camp

Queer Camp is the only 2SLGBTQIA+ youth summer camp in Arkansas, and 1 of approximately 402SLGBTQIA+ youth summer camps out of the over 12,000 summer camp programs in the United States. That means not even 1% of summer camps in the US are made for queer youth. We are proud of the supportive, caring community of campers, families, and volunteers that make up Queer Camp, and we invite you to join us! We currently offer a one-week day camp, a weekly hangout, and periodic events throughout the year.

Queer Camp

Queer Camp is a afternoon camp for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and allies ages 12-18. Queer Camp creates a space where campers sense safe, celebrated, loved, and valued by their society without fear of verdict. QC is supported by a diverse community of adult LGBTQ+ volunteers and staff.

Open Doors

Wednesday Open Doors is a weekly opportunity for our community of campers, volunteers, families, and friends to get together, eat a free meal, and hang out.

Is somebody gonna match my freak (find an individual summer camp where we can spend our days reading, napping, swimming, and making s’mores by the fire without any screens or responsibilities)?

Because these individual summer camps are calling my name, and I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be able to restrain myself from saying screw it and booking flights to one of these camps from Amsterdam already, whether I have somebody to join me on the journey or not.

Maybe it was all of those weeks I spent at church camp between each school year (hi, former cabin mates, hopefully you don’t mind that I’m bi now!), but it just doesn’t perceive like summer until I’ve disconnected from all of my devices to consume several days frolicking with friends and battling bug bites and sunburn in the wilderness, you know?

Call it ~healing my inner child~ if you must, but here are a few places where I’d rather be doing exactly that right now. A girl can dream!

What: “Since 1997, ‘Camp’ Camp — America’s premier summer camp for LGBTQ+ adults — has offered a fun and distinctive vacation for the gay, female homosexual, bisexual & transgender community.”

What’s the deal with LGBTQ Adult Summer Camps? What makes them different/needed and why do people preserve going back? I asked some people who’ve gone multiple times to ‘Camp’ Camp to explain how it’s different than a regular week at camp for the general society or for kids/teens, and why they feel the need to experience it more than once!

Thank you to Maxi, Tiffany, Jen, AJ, Phil, Kim, Patrick, Darren, Boomer, & Greg for being in my video! Registration is uncover for next year’s ‘Camp’ Camp (put JoshRimer as the promo code when you register to store $100) and if you’d like to see the overview of my first year there click here!

I really enjoyed myself again this year and here are some of the photos that I joint on my Instagram account from my week:

Base groups, what is it?

Throughout the years, a form for the camp week has emerged, that is based on the confidence and security of being part of a base group. Between breakfast and lunch the ground group meets. The beauty of GayCamp is the connection and trust that is being built up during a whole week. When you sign up for GayCamp, you write up for participatin
