Fire emblem engage gay romance
First: as i said, it's unrealistic. Just cuz you're building relationship with such person, it doesn't means you want to marry specifically this one. But for some unknown reason, characters becoming more hinting on romantic interest in you. Literally saying hints to my face. And i find it foolish.
Second: Every NPCs should have at best having their control preferences. Like, 2 linear NPCs, 2 bi NPCs, and so on. The reason why lately games with romance mechanics became having only with bi characters in their games, remains unknown to me. This part is getting out of hands. Retain when was the last game that had such strict mechanics? RF4 for example. Or Dragon Age Origins / Inquisition.
And the third: i

You can give the Pact Ring to any character, regardless of their or your protagonist's gender. Once you have an A rank support with that character, giving them the Pact Ring will automatically progress it to S rank and unlock their unique paired ending.
Given the fact that some characters are underaged, not all paired endings highlight romantic dialogue. Your Ally Notebook merely details a life spent with that character.
▶︎ All Paired Endings
While there is no explicit romancing features, you may choose only 1 A Rank character to get the Pact Ring towards the end of the game. A cutscene unusual to each character will then play, showing how a life shared with that character goes.
You obtain the Pact Bell after completing the Paralogue: The Connector, which can even be done before beating the main story. The Pact Ring will then be available in the Memento Drawer in your Room.

As was introduced in games like Fire Emblem Three Houses, here are all the same gender relationship options in Fire Emblem Engage. While the newest game in the Fire Emblem franchise uses a slightly different romance system than its predecessor, one of the biggest changes is the increase in same gender romantic relationships. With that, here is the full list for same gender romantic relationships.
All Same Gender Romance Options in Fire Emblem Engage
One surprise in Fire Emblem Three Houses was the true introduction of lgbtq+ relationships in the series. However, at the similar time, only a rare characters were romanceable if they were the similar sex as the one the player chose. That has been thrown out the window in Fire Emblem Engage, as every single romanceable character can be romanced as either version of the player.
Like previous games, the S-tier support rank is limited to one of your comrades, but the ones below are the only truly romantic relationships. Others that you can S-tier that aren’t listed below are more platonic than romantic.
This list consists of sixteen characters alphabetically, with their respective countries and genders:

I think there are a lot of reasons there’s more female rep. Of course both lesbians and trans gal are more of a conversation in the common eye. Lesbians are fetishized or romanticized more often, and trans woman are much more of a hot button issue.
I believe a lot of it too is just the fact that Fire Emblem is an anime game that does attract a lot of anime fans. And generally anime leans towards female supporting casts. Girls are just cuter and more moe for a lot of people. So there’s kinda overlap there.
These are just generalizations really, but I consider they do definitely contribute to the gender inclusion gap

Sara:In terms of in the main series there is just about equal rep.
I don’t really think these things are created equal. For the WLW pairings you have: literally the main nature (only available on one route), Dorothea and Mercedes, who are both superb. And also, a literal goddess. And a literal saint in Rhea.
For the men, you have Linhardt, who is great. And then:
Yuri, DLC only, also falls into the duplicitous bisexual category (alongside Niles from Fates)
Jeritza, DLC only, only.
