Chance The Rapper’s Brother Taylor Bennett Reveals He’s Bisexual

On Wednesday (Jan 18.), Chance the Rapper’s little brother, Taylor Bennett, revealed that he is bisexual the diurnal before his 21st birthday on Twitter.

“My birthday is tomorrow & moving into next year I’d love to be more unseal about myself to assist others that struggle with the same issues,” Bennett began in his series of tweets. “Growing up I’ve always felt apathetic about my sexuality & being attracted 2 one sex & today I would like to openly come out to my fans. I do distinguish myself as a double attraction male & do & have always openly supported the gay community & will keep doing so in 2017. #ThankYou,” he concluded. 

Shortly after Bennett’s very personal announcement, Chance chimed in to show his brotherly back, declaring “He’s got God and me behind him.”

Fans also praised him Bennett for his courage, with one Twitter user writing, “Proud of you man, bi men do exist and I’m glad you are comfortable to share that with us.” Another tweeted, “THANK YOU TAYLOR BEN

Despite the global reach of his music, Taylor Bennett talks to me alone, without intervention from his log label (whose staff includes only his father and his best friend). His older brother – Chance the Rapper – has Chicago on his shoulders, and his father worked as an aide to Obama, but Taylor is carrying a mass of inestimable size. The 22-year-old rapper represents those who resist the repression of categorisation. In the last month, Taylor Bennett released a six-song project called BE YOURSELF. The DIY project is the latest from the Chicago, Illinois MC. For many Hip-Hop Heads, two things come to brain surrounding the 22-year-old. He is the younger brother of Grammy Award-winning Rap star Chance The Rapper. Additionally, Taylor is one of the most well-known openly bisexual professional rappers. Appearing on The Breakfast Club, the younger Bennett directly addressed both of those aspects of his life and career.

Near the 3:00 mark, Angela Yee asks Taylor if there has ever been an interview where he has not been asked about his older brother. “It was almost this one,” admits Taylor, before the studio breaks into laughter. Chicago rapper revealed Wednesday he is bisexual.

“My birthday is tomorrow & moving into next year I'd appreciate to be more reveal about myself to assist others that struggle with the same issues,” Bennett wrote on Twitter. “Growing up I've always felt indifferent about my sexuality & being attracted 2 one sex & today I would like to openly come out to my fans. I perform recognize myself as a bisexual male & I do & have always openly supported the homosexual community & will preserve doing so in 2017.”

Bennett, who turns 21 on Thursday, teamed up with Leghorn Chicken in October to create a sandwich to benefit Chicago-based LGBTQIA advocacy and youth homeless support group Pride Move Tank.

The South Side native, who performed at The Metro last month, is the brother of Chance the Rapper and the son of Choose Chicago senior adviser Ken Bennett, who used to serve for President Barack Obama and Mayor Rahm Emanuel. His mother, Lisa, previously worked for the Illinois attorney general.
