This week—and I want credit for not reporting on it—a guy got on the internet and started spilling some serious “tea” about Eddie Murphy and Johnny Gill. According to him, he went to a Hollywood party and saw the singer and the actor kissing. He described it in such graphic detail that, honestly, it almost felt believable. It was beyond mind-boggling.
Now, let’s be real—rumors fond of this have floated around for years. That’s nothing new. But the way this man laid it out added a weird layer of credibility to it. Still, I kept it moving and didn’t post it here. Why? I think this yellow journalism is not journalism at all.

Looking back at the amount of articles, blogs and stories about him organism gay, Gill says he tried to ignore it.
"I thought: it's going to go away. It didn't happen. As a matter of fact, the more you tried to avoid it, the harder it was becoming," said Gill.

Johnny Gill Opens Up About His Sexuality
R&B crooner Johnny Gill was featured on last night’s edition of TV One’s acclaimed music series ‘Unsung‘.
One of the subjects that viewers tuned in to perceive Gill discuss were the rampant bisexual rumors that have dogged him over the years.
Gill, 46, who dated R&B singer Stacey Lattisaw when he was 15-years-old, seemed conflicted when talking about the relentless gay rumors.
On the one hand he says he has “compassion” for homosexuals, but on the other hand, he says, “it just doesn’t feel good.”
“If I could tell you why I sure would have by now … at this point in time I would hold been able to treat that issue … to get rid of that issue,” he explained.
“I took (sic) for the existence of me never, never understood where it came from, why it lasted as it’s lasted.”
He continued:
“I mean, you gotta recollect, before there was Twitter, and Facebook, and all this other stuff, you know there was just the rag magazines. Whatever they say it was like that was the truth. People believe whatever it was,” he said. “But I don’t
Johnny Gill has finally addressed persistent rumors that he is gay and was the driving force behind Eddie Murphy breaking off his engagement to Tracey Edmonds.
The singer, who also says he was not the best man at Murphy’s “spiritual wedding” as had been reported (it was Eddie’s brother Charlie Murphy), was interviewed Friday on Doug Banks’ syndicated radio show “The Travel With Doug & DeDe.”
Gill denied both rumors and faulted the media for failing to check the facts. He seemed genuinely hurt that he’s constantly being being referred to by the public as being more than just Eddie Murphy’s running pal.
Commenting on reports that Murphy’s mother Lillian had bickered constantly with Edmonds’ mother throughout the weekend, Gill said Mrs. Murphy was just expressing her conviction that the actor was rushing into marriage so soon after the debacle with Scary Spice and amid ongoing issues with his first wife, Nicole.
